Dear Friends, Thank you for visiting my campaign website. I continue to be humbled by the opportunity to serve the neighborhood in which my family and I have been living for 34 years. I am very proud of the work my office has done for over the past 3 years in service to the residents of San Jose. The neighborhood empowerment that we have helped create has been a true blessing. I look forward to meeting many more neighbors during the course of this campaign and beyond to continue to listen to the issues you care most deeply about and share my vision for a San Jose that works for all of us. Monterey Highway Repaved: On Time, Under Budget

Ash worked hard to ensure the repaving of Monterey Highway was made a top city priority. With the help of local neighborhood leaders, like Randy Froh from the Silver Leaf neighborhood, transportation funds were secured at the project was completed. It was done using a technologically advanced process that grinds up the old concrete and sets it in place with a rubberized material that was the equivalent of 17,000 recycled tires being layered on top. The process allowed the project to be done on time and approximately $1,000,000 under budget!

In 3 Years, Ash Established as Regional Leader

Ash has gained a strong reputation for regional leadership on behalf of the residents of San Jose. He is in line to become the first San Jose representative to become Chair of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District in 2013. Ash also serves on the Board of Directors of the Valley Transportation Authority, CalTrain, the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County and the Veterans Training Council. In his capacity as a regional leader, Ash has had the privilege of advocating for his constituents at the local, state, and federal level, and had the pleasure of meeting President Obama in the fall of 2009.

Partnering with Local Schools to Increase Volunteerism

Ash seen here with Mr. Greg Brazil of Oak Grove High School and Councilmember Kansen Chu. Mr. Brazil is being recognized for his tremendous efforts in creating a strong partnership between Oak Grove High School and Ash's Council office in putting on the Annual Great American Litter Pick-Up. Ash's office has brought out over 1,300 volunteers to this event over the past 3 years with the great support of Mr. Brazil and hundreds of Oak Grove High School students!

Creating Stronger Neighborhood Leadership

Ash is seen here with two outstanding community volunteers from the Coyote Creek neighborhood, Daryl and Mike Ospring. With the support of Ash and his team in the Council office, there has been a dramatic increase in neighborhood activism. This includes the National Night Out events throughout the District on the first Tuesay of August. The Osprings host one of those community building events every year in their neighborhood.
